XL PF-Tek MykoBox Grow Kit

Sterilised at 15 PSI in an electric autoclave. Processed and bagged within an ISO Class 5 cleanroom.

PF-Tek is a classic growing technique born in the early 1990's - now modernised by us with gypsum and coffee for that extra nutrient kick.

Achieves a large flush size and multiple harvests, with love and care.

XL PF-Tek MykoBox Grow Kit

Inoculation

  1. Give the bag a quick clean with the included wipe
  2. Slide the box out to reveal the first two injection ports
  3. Inject 0.5ml-1ml of a gourmet spore / culture syringe deep into each of the ports
  4. Repeat with the remaining injection ports
  5. Keep the bag (it could be useful) and leave the box alone in a warm place to fully colonise
  6. Follow the rest of the guide until harvest

The white HEPA filters on the lids will filter dust and mould spores and allow clean air exchange. Don't try to remove these! NEVER open the box before full colonisation of mycelium or the kit will be ruined with contamination.

The container

MaterialClear, tough polypropylene, so you can watch the mycelium grow. The lid seals airtight.
FilterWhite #30 filter in the lid: SAC O2's middle air-exchange grade, white rather than red so the colour is never confused with contamination.
How the filter worksRandomly arranged fibres, working on the HEPA principle, trap mould spores, mites and thrips while air passes through.
HeatCan be autoclaved at up to 123 °C.

Storage

If you cannot use your grow kit right away, we would advise that you store it in a (clean) fridge for a maximum of 2 weeks. If you can't store it in a fridge, don't leave it for any longer than 1 week. The longer you leave it, the more moisture will be lost from the substrate and if too much moisture is lost, colonisation will just not happen.

Always inoculate your grow kits as soon as you possibly can!

Advice

This grow kit is tailored for larger flush sizes. If you're a beginner, we would recommend any of our MycoPots Grow Kits. Typically takes 2-4 weeks at optimum conditions (but can sometimes take longer) to fully colonise at 23C (give or take a couple of degrees). Exact times are impossible to say as it's dependent on genetics. Some wood-loving species may not fruit on this substrate, but Oyster will.
