Want to get your hands dirty and try the famous 'PF-Tek' yourself?

Simply pour the bag of PF-Tek ingredients into a large bowl and mix in 500ml(cc) of tap water to create a fluffy light substrate which thousands of mushroom species will love to grow from.

You will also receive all of the essential components to get you to your first harvest (same components as any non-DIY grow kit we offer).

XXL DIY PF-Tek Grow Kit

DIY PF-Tek pre-mix of brown rice flour, gypsum and vermiculite.

8 x half-pint wide-mouth MycoPots made of polypropylene (won't melt) with Inject-Thru lids and air-filtration built-in to the lid.

  1. Simply pour the bag of dry ingredients into a large bowl, slowly adding 500ml of tepid water whilst thoroughly mixing with a wooden spoon.
  2. This fluffy PF-Tek mixture is then filled into each of the eight pots, whilst gently patting down the mix at three intervals (one third of the way up, two thirds of the way up and for the last third of the way up the jar).
  3. Fill up to the bottom of the plastic rim (17mm from the top), then fill to the top with vermiculite before fitting the lid.

We include 2 XXL Grow Tents which fit 4 of your colonised cakes each.

Size280 ml. Lid 90 mm across, base 80 mm, 60 mm tall.
MaterialClear, tough polypropylene, so you can watch the mycelium grow. The lid seals airtight.
FilterWhite #10 filter in the lid: the lowest of SAC O2's three air-exchange grades, made for long incubation.
How the filter worksRandomly arranged fibres, working on the HEPA principle, trap mould spores, mites and thrips while air passes through.
HeatCan be autoclaved at up to 123 °C.
AfterwardsBox and lid are 100% recyclable.

Advice

Can take 2-4 weeks at optimum conditions (but can sometimes take longer) to fully colonise. Does not come supplied with a gourmet spore or culture syringe. Some wood-loving species may not fruit on this substrate, but Oyster will.
