Recent updates to the shop

We've made some big changes to our shop recently in our ongoing pursuit to get away from the old nonsense pricing which has plagued this scene for years (us included). The latest target was our spore prices. As you have probably seen, in the past year we dropped our prices for 12mls down from £16 to £8. Why? Because we're all in a cost of living crisis and the profit margins felt like they were ripping the hole (they were). We've now gone further and dropped our prices down to a feel good £5 for any Ps. cubensis 12ml. On top of this, our spore syringes are probably the cleanest they've been in years, with just a few replacements being asked for in the past 4 months (we have to give massive kudos to our spore print producers too - after all, we're only as good as the weakest link).

Regarding spores, we came up with a better system to let customers choose the kind of spore syringe they want. We have two densities 'Lite' and 'Heavy'. We also have two volumes, 3ml and 12ml. A heavy 3ml contains on average the same amount of spores as a 12ml heavy - the only difference is the volume of water. This is totally different to the way we used to do it where the same jar of spore water would be used to fill 3mls and 12mls, meaning you'd get about a quarter of the spores for a syringe which was half the price as a 12ml.

Depending on the spore print we are dealing with, a 12ml or 3ml Lite will contain approximately 1/40th to 1/60th of a spore print. This is basically the same as we've been doing for years, except instead of £16 it costs £5. On the other hand, a 3ml or 12ml Heavy will contain around 1/10th to 1/15th of a spore print - around 4 times the spore count for just £15.

We're trying our best here to set a new standard ethical pricing. The peculiar thing we've learned over the years is that the more we try to drop our prices to fit our ethos, the more it can drive customers away from even ordering - as if somehow the lower prices mean product inferiority even when our products are probably the highest quality in all of Europe. If that situation does turn out to be the case, then we could be forced to inflate the prices when we don't even want to - it's an upside down world we're all in - who knows.

mycoscopy.uk

Ooh, nearly forgot about this one. We are now running a second myco shop dedicated to privacy and security. It doesn't even use javascript! I won't get into all of the details here, but if you're curious to find out more then head over to the about page to read why it was built, who it was built for and how it was built. From this point onwards, mycoscopy.uk will be the site which is unapologetically us which wears its heart on its sleeve.

.co.uk / .com

In other news, we recently moved back to our .co.uk domain. It wasn't just for the reason of too many people having login issues with their password managers using the old domain, but half of our images had a .co.uk watermark on them and we could not be bothered re-doing them all (we just want the EZ Life, can you blame us?).

New kits

We have some new kits coming in a few days, one of which is an updated MonoBox Grow Kit. It's brilliant and it's the way it should have been done from the start. Watch this space.
